What's this all about? Well, LEAF = Lesley Edie Alastair Freda...
...and VSO = Voluntary Service Overseas Lesley is working as a VSO volunteer at Simao Teachers' College in the south-west province of Yunnan, China. Initially she taught English language and methodology as well as HIV/AIDS awareness to trainee middle school and primary teachers, but from 2007 she has been developing a teacher training/student teaching practice exchange programme called PIE.. Lesley and her family came to Simao in August 2005, initially for a two year period. But in 2008 they were still there... Why not visit the other pages to find out how they're getting on and how you can become involved with this exciting project. Lesley says: "I have wanted to work for VSO for many years now, since I spent a year teaching English as a volunteer in Sri Lanka in 1988. VSO has years of experience of development work and I know that their placements are well-thought-out in conjunction with partner countries. We have experience and skills to share that can make a difference in the world. How can we turn our backs on that?"
